A group of 300 "IoT graduates " is all set to start work within the next six months to develop IoT devices in Bangladesh.

IoT, the “Internet of Things” is the network of physical devices, automobiles, homebased appliances and other system embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators and connectivity which enables these objects to connect and exchange data.
Thus, embedded objects are individually identifiable through its but is capable to inter-operate within the existing Internetwork infrastructure.

“We are putting emphasis on creating experts in the field of emerging technologies like IoT, Artificail Intelligence (AI), robotics, big data, block chain as many traditional types of job will be vanished and new employment avenues will be created in future,” said State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

He said the government is taking preparations to cope up with the emerging technologies by making partnership with the private sector to create experts in the field.
Bangladesh’s progress in internet-linked adavancement a setback due to failure of the BNP government to establish internet connectivity through the submarine cable in 1992 , Palak said.

The World Bank financed Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under ICT Division in collaboration with DataSoft, an internationally reputed Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)-5 level company is building these 300 IoT army, they informed.

LICT project director Md Rezaul Karim said the government has already developed 118 IoT graduates through DataSoft and the training on another 122 graduates under a programme titled `IoT Army of 300’ is going on.

“The IoT is creating smart space and transforming every corner of life like home, office, city streets and beyond and that’s why the government is stressing on creating IoT experts,” he said.

Karim said the training will be completed within next six months and DataSoft will provide job to these trained youths to develop IoT device, he said.

LICT project management specialist Sarkar Abul Kalam Azad said the LICT project also made a partnership with the US based Augmedix and BJIT to provide training on medical scribe and block chain.

“We are happy that the youngsters who received training on IoT have developed some software based solutions like air quality measurer and smart trolley,” he said.
The current development of IoT project (Lab) includes automatic water meter screening system to check, water vessel protection system, internet of things medicine system, anti-theft system for vehicles, smart city transportation system, vehicles monitoring system, detecting river pollution, resisting fire at garments and other factories, smart gas detection system, smart lamppost system, and smart waste management system.
It’ll have a significant contribution for expected modern urbanization.

The DataSoft is managing 10,000 smart houses in Japan and those who are getting training on IoT are being provided with job to develop IoT devices.
